The Fellowship for Biblical Studies Incorporated was formed in 1950, and is an association of biblical scholars based in Melbourne, Australia.

Australian Biblical Review Volume 55 (2007) coverIts purpose is to promote research and discussion on biblical studies and related fields by providing a forum in which local biblical scholars, as well as visiting scholars, may meet and present the results of their research to colleagues for critical discussion.

To achieve this aim, the Fellowship organises regular dinners at which papers are presented by members or visiting scholars.

FBS also publishes the journal, Australian Biblical Review, as a forum for its members (as well as other biblical scholars throughout Australia and overseas) to make their research available to the international scholarly community. Subscriptions for Australian Biblical Review can be taken out through the ABR Home Page.

Occasionally, FBS organises conferences or other seminars on aspects of biblical studies, making the insights of current biblical scholarship available to a wider audience, especially clergy and teachers of religious education.

See the Membership Page for more details about the Fellowship and how to enquire about becoming a member.
